PORTSMOUTH, NH (June 30, 2009) – WERZ 107.1 FM, KISS 95.3 FM, and NEWS/TALK 96.7 THE WAVE, together with Linda Hagan of Jewelry Creations, announced Kirsten Gouveia of Barrington and Dover Police Officer Ray Pardy were the winners of a free Dover wedding. The couple received votes from 290 different listeners in a contest than ran across three popular Clear Channel Radio stations in June.
June 1-12, listeners from WERZ 107.1, KISS 95.3, and 96.7 The Wave were invited to submit their story online detailing why they or a couple they know, deserved to have Dover throw them a wedding. The stations received nearly 100 entries in 2 weeks. Three finalists were chosen and their stories were posted on werz.com, kiss953.com, and 967thewave.com. Listeners then had 2 weeks to vote for their favorite couple as well as select items for that couple’s big day including wedding bands from Jewelry Creations, gown and tuxedo from Occasions Bridal and Tuxedos, and a honeymoon from Places to Go Travel. In addition to those items, Kristen and Ray will also receive a brunch reception for 50 people at Cartelli’s Bar & Grill, limousine service provided by Great Limousine, and $500 spending money from Federal Savings Bank.
Voting ended at midnight, June 26, and the winner was announced at Jewelry Creations in downtown Dover on June 30.
